Kirkmuirhill Parish Church is one of the 1200 congregations in the Church of Scotland.
- We believe that GOD exists as a real person and the creator of the universe
- We believe that GODS is deserving of our respect.
- We believe that accepting GODS way is best. Afterall, he made us.
- We understand that humanity prefers its own way rather than GODS way and the Bible calls this "Sin"
- We believe that the Bible is GODS message to Humanity.
- The Bible tells us that if we separate ourselves from GOD, He will seperate himself from us in the life to come.
- We believe that Jesus Christ, who lived in Israel 2000 years ago is the Unique Son of GOD.
- We believe that when Jesus died on the cross, He bore the sins and transgressions of all of us so that we could live with Him forever.
- We are eternally greatful for His mercy and we want to dedicate our lives to Him.
My name is Ian Watson and I am a Church of Scotland minister. My parish is Kirkmuirhill, which is ten minutes south of Hamilton, and sixty miles from the border with England. I am married to Kim and we have two children.
I’m a very simple man. I live to preach; I love to preach. I am minister of a wonderful congregation who allow me to proclaim the gospel to my heart’s content twice every Sunday. If you want to pigeon hole me theologically (I don’t mind) I am Reformed, orthodox, evangelical. I’m a great fan of the Puritans, but not uncritically so. My favourite Bible commentators are Calvin, Carson, Morris.
My name is Tim Mason and I come from Derbyshire where I grew up on a farm. I became a Christian when I was 17 and a number of years after went to Bible college to train for Christian Service.
My job in the Church here in Kirkmuirhill invloves both pastoral ministry and evangelism. I even help out at the charity shop!
One of my favourite verses is Psalm 105:3 'Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually!' This reminds us of our continual need for the Lord's help in our lives
