Firstly, Welcome to Kirkmuirhill Church's
'Drug Proofing your Kids' homepage.
We are so privilaged to be able to run this course which is designed to
equip parents with the confidence, knowledge and awareness to help
support and influence their childrens decision when it comes
to substance abuse.
Substance abuse in our society is a very real problem.
The knowledge of our children on where to get drugs, how to
use them, and what the effects are, often far outweigh the
knowledge of our parents.
As a concerned parent, we're sure you want to give your best shot at keeping your children out of the statistics.
Children start using drugs for many reasons, some of which you as a parent can have influence over, such as: low self-esteem, attitude towards drugs; dealing with life crises, peer pressure.
There are no guarantees, but DPYK will provide you with the right skills and knowledge to help you steer your children away from harmful drug use.
But even if a child in your family is currently using drugs, then the DPYK sessions on improving communication or setting boundaries will prove helpful. And there are two sessions specifically about ways to intervene and help a child in recovery.

All you have to do is email us at dpyk@kirkmuirhillchurch.co.uk with your Name, Address and contact details, and we will let you knowwhen the next course is running.
If you attend Kirkmuirhill Church, there is also the option of signing upusing the sheet on the Prayer table. Alternativly, you can speak to George or Clare wherever and whenever you see them.
